I employ bright colors and shapes with acrylics that immediately grab the eye.
My work is a bold and memorable display with colors used in signage to noticeably capture an otherwise forgotten moment. The loud colors represent femininity, courage and strength in a modern world. Perhaps related to not wanting to let go of a memory and the desire to be remembered.

I am inspired by the vibrant colors and patterns of folk art and crafts. Although color takes precedence in these paintings. Shape interaction and patterns play an important role. They are like rhymes that harmoniously flow through my compositions.

My images are dreamy fantasies transforming the subconscious to another place

I also think about the autonomous drawings of the surrealist or drawing without conscious thought. Regardless of the common domestic plots there is nothing completely ordinary in my world of painting. They bravely incorporate a carefree style. One moment of creation may not necessarily be safely carried to the next painting.

My work has a range of figures, symbols, patterns that switch from recognizable to abstraction. This arrangement exudes a surreal dreamlike quality. The paintings weave in and out of my dreams. They dive into the mind and bounce out to bold world of art. Fantasy transforming into materiality.

Ultimately I like to think of how my artwork and femininity takes place in the modern world. I channel memories, ancient wisdom and dreams of women from the past. My patterns and electric colors with dynamic shape interaction bring a new femininity, boldness and bravery, as we face the uncertain future.
